ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALLIANCE PARTNERS
UNICEF:
- Providing the technical support
- Coordination with the Government at state level.
Facilitator Organization:
- Coordination with the UNICEF, alliance members and government.
- Facilitate and overlook the activities regularly.
- Conduct of regular meetings with the alliance partners for knowledge sharing
- Monitoring and follow up
Alliance Members: NGOs/CSRs/other organizations and researchers are performing following roles and responsibilities as Allies.
- Providing ground level support to implement WASH program
- Promotion and demonstration of WASH related activities at various platforms
- Ensure smooth and timely implementation of WASH activities
MEETINGS
First Meeting:
To know the objective and idea behind the WASH Alliance, the first online zoom meeting was organized on 22nd August 2022 in direction to decide further actions in this regard. Around 50 CSRs, partner implementation organizations were attended this meet online.
Second Meeting:
The WASH Alliance Partners’ second meeting was held on 19th October 2022 at Pune, to move forward towards ensuring sustainable access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities at schools and other institutions level. The meeting has been provided ample opportunity for in-depth exchanges knowledge and learning from partners and regional experiences, drawing on findings from new evidence. The meeting was included sessions based on key thematic areas under the WASH program through presentations, introduction to the program, panel discussions, best practices and experience sharing and WASH Mitra App launching.
Launching of WASH Mitra App
To promote WASH infrastructure Operation & Maintenance services in schools and other institutions, UNICEF & CYDA joined hands and successfully launched “WASH Mitra” mobile application on 19th October 2022. This occasion was inaugurated by Hon. Shri. Mallinath Kalshetti, Deputy Director General, YASHADA, Pune and he guided the participants. WASH Mitra (Young WASH Entrepreneurs) helps the schools and other institutes to register their O&M work requests. Trained WASH Mitra also shared their experiences on this occasion.
